2023: Jamaica Parcel Data Management System (PDMS) Modernization Project for Jamaica
The National Land Agency (NLA) manages and maintains Jamaica’s core land management information. They will be transitioning their current PDMS system into Esri’s modernized ArcGIS Pro environment.
MNC and Silvacom specialists were hired to support the NLA team in preparation for their migration of data and tools into Esri’s ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric. Through a series of meetings, the MNC/Silvacom team was able to leverage their experience, expertise, and hands-on knowledge to address any project execution challenges that NLA may face in the course of their migration.
The Challenge
Jamaica is migrating their ArcGIS Desktop data into Esri’s ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric. They have been running into some difficulties with the migration and needed some additional support.
The Solution
Esri Inc. suggested to Jamaica that MNC could help since they have subject matter experts in this domain. MNC collaborated with the Jamaica team providing suggestions and hands on knowledge of working through some of their migration impediments.
The Results
NLA will transition their data 2006 parcel Data Management system into a modernized system in anticipation for Esri’s discontinued support for ArcGIS desktop in March 2026
