2023: GIS Modernization
The Challenge
A leader in information management in the Canadian Prairies needed to modernize their land management platform. The primary driver for this is to prepare for Esri’s discontinued support for ArcGIS Desktop as of March 1, 2026. The second reason involved transitioning from current custom software elements to commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) components, which are backed by support and eliminate the need for expensive development and upkeep.
The Solution
MNC was chosen to partner with the client in the collaborative effort of migrating their data from ArcGIS desktop to Esri’s ArcGIS Pro. This involves customizing the data model and updating the custom-made software elements into COTS components for modernization.
