Giving Back Through Lifesaving Donations

At MNC, community support means showing up where it counts most… like rolling up our sleeves to save lives. For over two decades, our team has participated in regular blood donations through Canadian Blood Services, making a meaningful and ongoing impact on the health and well-being of Canadians.

What started as a local team initiative has grown into a movement. Inspired by MNC’s long-standing commitment, other companies within the Silvacom Group have joined in, creating a ripple effect of lifesaving contributions across our organization. Our collective goal: to build a culture of compassion, where regular donation is a shared value and responsibility.

MNC became a “Partner for Life” with Canadian Blood Services, reflecting our team's dedication and the lives we've helped improve, one donation at a time.

Serving Comfort, One Meal at a Time

MNC is proud to support families when they need it most through our participation in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta (RMHC Alberta) Home for Dinner program. In 2025, our team had the privilege of preparing and serving a warm, nourishing meal to families staying at the house while their children received critical medical care nearby.

This experience left a lasting impact on our team and reaffirmed our commitment to meaningful, people-centered community service. RMHC Alberta serves over 2,200 families each year and helps them save more than $9.6 million annually in accommodation and support costs. MNC plans to continue and expand our involvement in bringing comfort, dignity, and a sense of home to families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.

Giving Back Through Food Security

In partnership with Girl Guides of Canada and the Hike for Plenty campaign, MNC joined forces with the Silvacom Group to organize a Food Bank drive in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank. Over several weeks, team members collected and donated food items to assist families experiencing food insecurity.

This initiative reflected our commitment to local impact and community wellness. By aligning with youth-led organizations and essential services like the food bank, MNC demonstrates that even small contributions can add up to big support for those in need.

Supporting Future Geospatial Professionals – SAIT Capstone Projects

As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of skilled geospatial professionals, MNC partners with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) to support work-integrated learning for students in their final year.

Through the Bachelor of Geographic Information Systems (BGIS) program, we provide real-world capstone projects that allow students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting. These collaborative efforts culminate in student presentations to faculty, stakeholders, and industry partners—giving them practical experience and helping cultivate a stronger geospatial workforce.

This initiative is part of our broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mission to empower learning, innovation, and leadership within the GIS community.
